Chapter 54. STREETS, SIDEWALKS AND OTHER PUBLIC PLACES

§ 54-6. Excavations to be covered.

(a)

It is unlawful for any person to make any excavation or dig any hole, drain or ditch in any highway or thoroughfare in the town without providing a sufficient light at night and a temporary fence or suitable obstruction around or in front of such excavation during the day.

(b)

It is unlawful for any property owner to abandon any excavation of 18 inches or more without providing substantial curbing, covering or protection of such excavation.
