§ 2-362. Contract change orders and renewals.

  • (a)

    Except as provided in paragraph (c) below, change orders that increase or decrease the contract amount may be approved and executed by the purchasing officer if the total of the original contract value and all change orders does not exceed $100,000.00, or the original contract value was $100,000.00 or more and the change order is less than $10,000.00 or ten percent of the original contract value (whichever is greater), or if the change order has no monetary value. All other change orders shall be approved by the council.

    (b)

    Contracts may be renewed upon written approval of the purchasing officer if:

    (1)

    The renewal contract amount does not exceed $100,000.00; or

    (2)

    The renewal includes a price increase of less than ten percent; or

    (3)

    The original prices remain in effect during the renewal term. The council must approve contract renewals in all other cases.

    (c)

    For contracts governed by A.R.S. Title 34, all change orders over $10,000.00 or ten percent of the original contract value (whichever is greater) require council approval.
